In food and processing components are exposed to environments which ask for specific solutions. R&D has developed a coating in cooperation with Unilever research on the inside of chilling tubes. In these chilling tubes a recristallisation of consumption ice or fats such as margarine takes place. The product itself as well as the scrapers inside causes wears. Cleaning the tubes can cause corrosion. Improvements of cycle lifetime of over 600% are realized compared with conventional hard chromium.
